Tribute to Mouriki Greek Premium Honey to the city’s blog, with the most interesting articles about life in Athens, Athens Vibe at 07/02/2021

“Today the post is dedicated to a special part of this city because Athens is not only Plaka, Monastiraki, but it is also the side where its people try to build their lives, their vision.
Panagiotis and Maria are brothers, live in Elefsina, West Attica and are 2 modern nomadic beekeepers, who create and bring to Athens their beekeeping products that express a special culture. Athens is part of their daily life. The tradition in beekeeping begins with their father in 1960 when a small child entered beekeeping. Panagiotis from the age of 7 he was also introduced to nomadic beekeeping and later Maria joined the family business and now they number over 2,500 beehives.

Nomadic beekeeping means living in their own trucks, under adverse conditions but with a passion and love for beekeeping.

Following the traditional practice of nomadic beekeeping with good techniques that respect the environment and the bee itself, transport the bees from Elefsina to Thassos, Halkidiki and Central Greece to the Peloponnese and Kimolos, depending on the season and the flower so that the highest quality honey can be produced.

“Their vision is the continuous evolution of their beekeeping equipment, while respecting the traditional practice of the Mouriki Family, so that they continue to produce beekeeping products with the same passion and love for pure and traditional products with Greek identity and value.”
