Sage (Salvia Triloba)
Due to the microclimate of Crete, Cretan sage is considered one of the best varieties that thrive in Greece. It is a herb with a rich therapeutic effect. It contains a variety of phytochemical compounds, such as rosmarinic acid, flavonoids and vitamins, which give it antioxidant, anti-inflammatory and antiseptic properties, contributes to oral health, menopausal flare-ups, helps regulate sugar and protects cells from free radicals roots.
Sage can be boiled to make a decoction that can be consumed to benefit from its healing properties. To make a sage decoction follow the following instructions for use.
Add 1 tablespoon of dried sage to a pot of boiling water and let it boil for 5 minutes. Then let it cool for a few minutes and strain it. Add a spoonful of honey to enhance the taste.
